Mangan Logging is a third-generation family business that specialises in efficient and effective harvesting, processing, extraction and haulage of Softwood Pine Logs in sustainably managed Softwood Pine Plantations in the Oberon area.
The business began with Bert and Monica Mangan over 50 years ago. It was taken over by son and daughter in law Michael and Suzanne Mangan 35 years ago with all four of their children Matt, Lisa, Chris and Michelle entering and managing the business in their areas of expertise that drive hard work, professionalism and commitment. Matt managing and leading the harvest team, Chris managing and leading the haulage team, Lisa managing and leading the in-house store and Office Administration and Michelle managing and leading the Management/Financial Accounting and Business Administration.
The business currently employs over 70 employees and subcontractors and is considered a community and family-oriented business that seeks to employ and retain quality staff with experience, drive and commitment.
The Mangan Group currently utilise an array of machinery to optimise the productivity and quality of their services including Harvesters, Feller Bunchers, Forwarders, Skidders, Loaders and B-Double Trucking Combinations. The Mangan Group hold extensive experience working different slopes and terrain, which extends to the steep slopes of the region which requires specialised extraction equipment. The Mangan Group operate a fully equipped and regulated workshop and an on-call Field Service Technician Crew, for both logging and haulage services, that repair and maintain the fleet to ensure that downtime is kept to a minimum and the safety of employees and the community are upheld. The business is steadily progressing to electronic platforms in the areas of real-time Safety Reporting, Safety Circulars, Repairs and Maintenance Reporting and Human Resource services.
